Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with directors, producers, and other stakeholders to maintain the creative vision and integrity of CGTN.
  • Develop and refine compelling English-language content that meets the standards of a broadcast TV news environment.
  • Assist editorial leaders in maintaining the creative vision and integrity of CGTN.
  • Work closely with other team members to determine the most creative and editorially accurate solutions.
  • Edit copy to ensure scripts are easy to understand, interesting, creative, and compelling.
  • Correctly format scripts and view video and graphics to ensure scripts and images are in sync.
Requirements
  • English as a first language speaker with a valid passport.
  • At least 2 years of related experience with strong editing skills, including accuracy, balance, language, and style.
  • Ability to produce quality work quickly.
  • Flexibility to adapt during breaking news and ability to adapt to program or anchor style and rewrite when necessary.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding live/24-hour news environment.
  • Ability to work irregular hours and work an extended schedule as the news cycle and deadlines require.
