Inrush Electrical is a leading provider of electrical engineering services, seeking an experienced Substation Technician to join our team. As an Electrical Power Systems Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our electrical distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities:

System Maintenance and Testing

• Conduct regular inspections and tests on electrical equipment and devices to ensure optimal performance and safety.

• Analyze and determine the presence of adverse conditions, documenting and reporting test results.

• Take appropriate corrective actions to maintain system reliability and performance.

Instrumentation and Control

• Perform instrument transformer tests, including CCVT, CT, and SSVT testing.

• Conduct surge arrester power factor testing.

• Test capacitor bank or power-factor correction systems.

• Perform power transformer testing, including Doble and TTR testing.

High Voltage Breaker Testing

• Conduct high voltage breaker testing, including timing, travel, and functional testing.

Switchgear Functional Testing

• Perform switchgear functional testing, including print reading, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

ATS Testing

• Ensure proper operation of automatic transfer switches (ATS) from normal to emergency power.

Travel Requirements

• Willing to travel for work throughout North America, with approximately 50% of the time spent on the road.

Requirements

• Must work safely and adhere to all electrical safety core principles and procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Prefer a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an Associate's degree/technologist diploma from an accredited two-year technical college.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in substation maintenance and testing.

• General PC skills, including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Excel.

• NETA II, III, or IV Certification preferred.
