The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the installation, maintenance, and repair of machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems, ensuring a safe and efficient operating environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Identify current and future maintenance requirements by establishing rapport with management, engineering, and production personnel
* Achieve financial objectives by working within an annual maintenance budget
* Ensure production operations by determining work priorities and scheduling repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment
* Support product development and improvement by conferring with management and design engineers
* Provide heat, steam, electric power, gas, and air by directing installation of, modifications to, and maintenance activities on utility systems
* Design, implement, and modify preventive maintenance programs
* Direct maintenance operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operation, and personnel policies and procedures
* Resolve maintenance problems by conferring with management, engineering, and quality control personnel
* Protect employees and visitors by enforcing Health and Safety legislation and maintaining a safe and clean working environment
* Maintain maintenance staff job results by orienting and training employees, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
* Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications

Requirements

* 3 to 5+ years supervisory experience in maintenance position
* Certified Trades License or post-secondary degree/diploma in a technical discipline
* Excellent knowledge of manufacturing equipment and services
* 5+ years manufacturing experience preferably in paper packaging industry
* Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
* Math skills for financial control through budgets and reports

Working Conditions

* Constant exposure to noise, heat, humidity in the plant environment
* Provide support to on-call mechanics on all shifts
* Weekend works required

Physical Demands

* Moderate mental concentration for computer work
* Standing, walking, lifting
