BALMORAL RENOVATION is seeking a skilled Woodworking Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

The ideal candidate will have experience with building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems. You will also be responsible for fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, as well as scheduling and coordinating work on sites.

We are looking for a reliable and accurate individual with excellent judgement and team player skills. If you have 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the construction industry and are willing to travel, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
  • Survey building locations and levels
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Supervise other workers
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Willing to travel
  • Public transportation is available
  • Physically demanding work environment
  • Ability to work in a team
