Join Our Team as a Junior Litigation Associate

Whitelaw Twining, a leading litigation law firm, is seeking a motivated and experienced Junior Litigation Associate to join our Calgary team.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented individual with 2-5 years of experience in construction litigation, property and professional indemnity claims, and general insurance defence. As a Junior Litigation Associate, you will have the opportunity to work independently on your own files while receiving guidance and mentorship from experienced senior counsel on more complex cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of litigated cases independently, receiving guidance and mentorship from senior counsel.
  • Assist senior counsel on complex and high-profile matters, contributing to strategic case management.
  • Achieve both billable and non-billable targets, contributing to the firm's overall performance and success.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship within the team, fostering a collaborative environment and supporting the development of junior colleagues.
Requirements
  • Licensed to practice law in Canada and a Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
  • 2-5 years of experience in construction litigation, property and professional indemnity claims, and general insurance matters, demonstrating a solid foundation in relevant legal practices.
  • Exceptional proficiency in English, with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and a busy litigation practice while efficiently coordinating with team members.
