We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ecotoxicology Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Bureau Veritas Switzerland AG.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ecotoxicology and laboratory procedures, with experience working with complex sample preparation and analysis. They will be responsible for performing high-quality analytical work, maintaining cultures of bioassay organisms, and contributing to the development and validation of new procedures and instruments.

This is a challenging role that requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be committed to delivering high-quality results while ensuring the safety and well-being of themselves and others.

The salary range for this position is estimated to be between CHF 62,000 - CHF 72,000 per year, depending on experience. This includes top-tier health, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, statutory holidays, and up to 8 hours of volunteer time off.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality analytical work, including complex sample preparation and analysis.
  • Maintain cultures of bioassay organisms, including rainbow trout, Daphnia magna, Ceriodaphnia dubia, and various algae.
  • Contribute to the development and validation of new procedures and instruments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless laboratory operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines, including ISO 17025.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma in sciences, preferably biology, ecotoxicology, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in ecotoxicology or biology laboratory setting.
  • Strong background in laboratory procedures, including sample preparation and analysis.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, record keeping, calculations, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Working Conditions:

  • High level of work production in fast-paced lab environment.
  • Flexible working hours, weekends, overtime, and shift work.
  • May involve long periods of standing and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Hazardous materials handled using established safety procedures and appropriate equipment.
