Senior Process Engineer

Toronto, Canada DRA Global Full time

DRA Global, a leading international engineering, project delivery, and operations management group, is seeking a highly skilled Senior P&ID Designer to join their Engineering and Design Team.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 6-10 years of experience in drafting PFDs and P&IDs in AutoCAD and AutoCAD P&ID, as well as a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, technical, writing, communication, and computer skills, with the ability to follow directions and communicate effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup and configure the AutoCAD P&ID application and projects.
  • Customize symbols, lists, and reports to project requirements.
  • Administer AutoCAD database development.
  • Develop project and application-specific work instructions.
  • Provide local end-user support and training.
  • Maintain audit plans and routines to ensure data integrity and proper system operation.
  • Implement maintenance routines and maintain detailed software documentation.
  • Interpret flow diagrams, design packs, or conceptual designs and prepare drawings for a project.
  • Modify drawings to suit client, engineers, and Design Office management requirements.
  • Work knowledge of applicable software and workflows.
  • Adhere to drawing office standards and procedures.
  • General understanding of design codes and standards.
  • Appropriate flowsheets, P&IDs, drawings, flowsheet symbols, and drawing software database knowledge.

Budget Management:

  • Manage and review drawings within the man-hour budget.
  • Produce drawings in a cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure drawings are delivered within the project schedule.
  • Responsible for reporting on drawing budget over-run.

Quality:

  • Ensure quality of drawings are of a high standard through the correct usage of software.
  • Produce drawings accurately according to the client, drawing office, and applicable standards and codes for the project.
  • Follow specific drawing office quality assurance and procedures.
  • Ensure drawings are self-checked to minimize errors.
  • Maintain a high standard of end-user training.
