Key Responsibilities:

As a Welder at Ocean Steel & Construction Ltd., you will be responsible for:

  • Performing metal core (MCAW) welding on structural steel building components
  • Operating various welding equipment and tools to weld in various positions (vertical/horizontal)
  • Setting up wire fed welding machines manually using control buttons
  • Reviewing structural drawings for steel beams, columns, and other building components that form complete structures
  • Operating overhead cranes to transport workpieces and metal components

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment college program or equivalent experience
  • Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification (Block 1)
  • New Brunswick Class B Welder's Certificate is a definite asset
  • 1 to 3 years' experience in structural steel welding
