AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly skilled Senior Rock Mechanics Engineer to join our Geotechnical Practice. This role will involve developing and expanding our infrastructure geotechnics capability by building on our existing portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of rock mechanics and rock engineering projects, including rock face stability, tunneling, and underground excavations in rock, foundations, and rockfall hazards. Proven experience in rock mass characterization and assessment of geological and/or geotechnical conditions is also required.
About the Role:
This position will provide technical and operational leadership, having superior client relations skills and a proven ability to deliver major assignments. The successful applicant will be responsible for executing complex and major programs, supporting complex proposals, mentoring of junior staff, as well as acting as a technical reference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development and expansion of infrastructure geotechnics capability
- Execution of complex and major geotechnical projects
- Mentoring of junior staff and providing technical guidance
- Serving as a technical reference for clients and internal stakeholders
Requirements:
- Degree in civil engineering or geology
- Strong understanding of rock mechanics and rock engineering projects
- Proven experience in rock mass characterization and assessment of geological and/or geotechnical conditions
- Professional Engineering License (P.Eng) in Ontario
