Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Over the Rainbow, Children's Centre.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with children aged [insert age range] and contribute to their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Knowledge of licensing regulations and attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements:
  • Certificates, licenses, memberships, and courses: Food allergy and anaphylaxis training, Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate.
  • Security and safety: Criminal record check, Medical exam, Immunization records, Tuberculosis test, Vulnerable sector check.
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling.
  • Personal suitability: Punctuality, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Excellent written communication, Flexibility, Reliability, Team player, Values and ethics, Creativity.
