Simulator Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for a skilled Simulator Maintenance Technician to join our team at CAE. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as operational support, to ensure the required availability and reliability of our training devices.

Key Responsibilities (continued):

  • Perform and assist in the analysis and resolving of software and hardware related issues
  • Monitor and ensure that all training devices are serviceable and ready for training
  • Identify potential system problems and work with technical experts and colleagues to formulate plans to solve such problems using approved processes and procedures
  • Support internal and external customers for modifications, updates, testing, maintenance, and repair
  • Produce/update maintenance records in accordance with established practices and processes
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex problems spanning a wide range of technologies including, but not limited to: computer systems, networking, audio/video distribution, and avionics systems

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Technical college diploma in electronics or aviation, or 5 years of related experience
  • Customer-centric with experience and success providing customer service
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and be a dynamic team player
  • Strong knowledge of English, read, written, and spoken
  • Strong communication skills
  • Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident, or with a valid Work Permit
  • Capable of obtaining and maintaining both Controlled Goods Clearance and a Level II NATO Secret security clearance

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Understanding of aircraft terminology and simulation devices
  • Ability to interpret schematics and other technical documents
  • Experience on flight training devices
  • Knowledge of computing networks and architecture
  • Experience in military environment
  • Experience in material control
