Job Description

**Job Title:** System Administrator

**Job Type:** Temporary Contractor

**Location:** Toronto, ON

**Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to join our team at TV2 Consulting. As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and securing Windows Server environments, configuring and monitoring key applications, and overseeing Linux environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and Secure Windows Server Environments: Ensure proper setup of permissions, roles, and system security policies.
  • Configure and Monitor Key Applications: Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, and Tomcat.
  • Oversee Linux Environments: Docker management and DevOps practices, with hands-on experience using Bash commands.
  • Ensure Adherence to Security Standards: Demonstrate responsibility and integrity.
  • Proactively Troubleshoot and Resolve System Issues: Develop application deployment plans and strategize system migrations.
  • Engage with Team Members: Gather insights and information for current system setups and future implementations.
  • Plan and Execute Transparent Application Migrations: Clear communication and user support.
  • Provide Critical Analysis: Recommend solutions and best practices for short, mid, and long-term infrastructure improvements.

Requirements:

  • Strong Knowledge of Windows Server Environments: Experience configuring security protocols and policies.
  • Experience in Services and Application Monitoring: Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, and Tomcat.
  • Proficiency in Linux System Administration: Docker, and DevOps, with the ability to use Bash scripting effectively.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Programming Languages: ASP, VB.NET, C#.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Version Control Tools: Jenkins, GIT, Team Foundation, Urban Deploy, and OpenShift.
  • Analytical and Solution-Driven: Able to recommend practical infrastructure solutions.
  • Strong Communication and Planning Skills: Capable of ensuring smooth user experiences during system migrations and deployments.
  • Eager to Learn and Take Initiative: Resolve system challenges.
