Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Area Supervisor to join our team at our Red Deer facility. As a dynamic leader, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving productivity improvements. Your key objectives will include:
  • Optimizing operations to increase productivity and improve Yield and First Pass Yield.
  • Ensuring compliance with all aspects of the safety, health, environmental, and quality programs.
  • Planning, aligning, and directing daily production activities to meet or exceed daily production requirements and conform to the monthly shipping plan.
  • Conducting monthly safety meetings and making every reasonable effort to ensure the safety of employees.
  • Working with operators and stakeholders to effectively solve problems and provide training to meet job standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably with an engineering degree, or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years' industrial operations experience, preferably in operating steel/pipe facilities.
  • Previous experience leading a team and overseeing work is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated business operations and process improvement experience, along with knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with occupational health and safety (OH&S) regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to motivate teams.
