Therapy Assistant

Job Summary:
This casual therapeutic recreation therapy assistant position provides services to Alberta Health Services Continuing Care. There may also be opportunities for casual shifts at other healthcare facilities.
About the Role:
As a Therapy Assistant, you will work both individually and as part of an interprofessional team under the assignment, monitoring and evaluation of a healthcare professional. You will contribute to effective and efficient rehabilitation services including direct and indirect client care across the healthcare continuum for all ages as well as non-client service provision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to effective and efficient rehabilitation services
- Work as part of an interprofessional team
- Provide direct and indirect client care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Contribute to program planning and student supervision
Required Qualifications:
Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Certification in Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider from a recognized organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with therapy assistant diploma with a specialization in therapeutic recreation or a therapeutic recreation diploma. Therapy assistant experience with therapeutic recreation in Continuing Care setting.
