Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Interventional Radiology team at Vancouver General Hospital. The successful candidate will have experience in critical care and the ability to work independently as part of an interdisciplinary team.

About the Role

This position requires a highly motivated and organized individual who can prioritize tasks, manage multiple patients, and maintain accurate records. You will be working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform nursing functions associated with interventional radiology, computed tomography, and other medical imaging procedures.
  • Assist physicians during procedures and perform direct nursing care as appropriate to ensure the comfort and safety of patients undergoing procedures.
  • Enhance quality of life from the perspective of the patient/family.
  • Prepare for and respond to fluctuating workloads, unexpected critical situations, and the requirement to be on-call as required.
  • Consult, confer, and collaborate with other healthcare providers and members of the Medical Imaging team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Completion of a recognized critical care nursing program or two years recent, related experience in an interventional radiology or critical care setting.
