We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Key Holder to join our team at the Great Canadian Dollar Store. As a Key Holder, you will be responsible for selling merchandise, performing opening and closing activities, and operating the cash register. You will also be required to deposit cash and maintain daily log books, as well as provide advice to customers about merchandise. Additionally, you will be responsible for greeting customers, discussing merchandise, and assisting in the display of merchandise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Selling Merchandise: Sell merchandise to customers, including discussing type, quality, and quantity of merchandise or services sought for purchase, rental, or lease.
  • Opening and Closing Activities: Perform opening and closing activities, including counting cash and maintaining daily log books.
  • Operating Cash Register: Operate the cash register, including handling cash and making change.
  • Providing Advice: Provide advice to customers about merchandise, including discussing features and benefits.
  • Greeting Customers: Greet customers and discuss merchandise, including answering questions and providing recommendations.
  • Assisting in Display: Assist in the display of merchandise, including setting up displays and maintaining visual merchandising standards.
Requirements:
  • Own Transportation: Own transportation, including a valid driver's license.
  • Attention to Detail: Have attention to detail, including being able to count cash and maintain accurate records.
  • Standing for Extended Periods: Be able to stand for extended periods, including during opening and closing activities.
  • Bending, Crouching, Kneeling: Be able to bend, crouch, and kneel, including when assisting in the display of merchandise.
  • Weight Handling: Be able to handle weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs), including when operating the cash register.
  • Client Focus: Have a client focus, including being able to provide excellent customer service.
  • Efficient Interpersonal Skills: Have efficient interpersonal skills, including being able to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Reliability: Be reliable, including being able to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.
