Automation Controls Engineer

The Automation Controls Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of plant infrastructure and production equipment. This involves conducting routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, identifying issues, and executing repairs. The Engineer must possess advanced skills in AB programmable logic controllers and Human Interface (HMIs) such as AB PanelView, FactoryTalk View, and Wonderware. Additionally, the Engineer will be responsible for configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning AB and Siemens VFDs, as well as overseeing the maintenance of programs for PLCs and PCs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic checks on automated systems and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Develop and implement efficient control systems.
  • Configure, test, and commission AB and Siemens VFDs.
  • Oversee the maintenance of programs for PLCs and PCs.
  • Guide and train less experienced team members.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Essential Experience & Knowledge:

At least 3 years of experience in automation with HMI, SCADA, PLCs, and control system design. In-depth knowledge of industrial automation systems, Allen-Bradley controls/controllers, Siemens and PLCs. Experience in the food industry is a plus. Experience with FactoryTalk Suite, Wonderware Suite, and VisualBasic/C#/Java is beneficial.
