Job Description:

As a Senior Vice President of Operations at Gate Gourmet, you will be responsible for leading the operational strategy and performance of our business units. Your primary objective will be to drive financial and operational excellence, ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Budget Management: Establish and maintain annual budgets and profit objectives for each unit, overseeing financial and operational performance through effective leadership and collaboration with the finance team.
  • KPI Management: Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of specific Key Performance Objectives (KPIs) and operational performance goals for each unit, adjusting annually as global objectives evolve. Develop corrective action plans to ensure individual and team efforts stay on track to achieve profit and performance objectives.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure customer specifications are clearly understood, and all products and services meet customer satisfaction standards, reported through regular surveys. Collaborate with the Commercial team to develop and maintain good customer relations through periodic meetings at individual airports and corporate offices.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure Unit Management teams comply with all corporate Quality and Safety training and tracking programs to guarantee food safety, accident, and injury goals are met.
  • Labor Control: Establish and direct regional labor control plans designed to meet future staffing needs of each unit, focusing on professional development of internal candidates for promotion through performance management programs.
  • Maintenance Planning: Direct the establishment of routine and preventive maintenance programs for kitchen equipment to minimize costs and increase planned life.
  • Facility Development: Coordinate regional planning for construction of new and/or expanded facilities, including capital planning, capacity studies, feasibility analyses, and facility layout and design.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop short and long-range strategic plans, both financial and non-financial, for each unit.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws governing business conduct and understanding of corporate policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Operational Goals: Achieve operation/organizational goals by establishing standards and procedures; measuring results against plans and KPIs; evaluating and improving methods; course correcting as necessary, utilizing corporate assets such as Lean/Opex, Human Resources, Labor Relations, IT, SAP, and CIM representatives to support goal achievement.
Requirements:

This role requires a visionary leader who can drive operational excellence and financial growth. The ideal candidate should have:

  • A strong background in operations management, preferably within the food or aviation industry.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience in budget management, KPI management, and customer satisfaction improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate data and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with lean principles and process improvements.
Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $150,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
