We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager, Facilities Operations to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the planning, design, and implementation of assigned facilities projects of moderate scope and complexity.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Management: Develop and implement project plans, including project charters, scope statements, and project schedules, to ensure successful and coordinated completion of project components.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders, including physicians, staff, and external users, to convey information and respond to queries and concerns regarding project status, design, and construction matters.
- Contract Management: Administer contracts and oversee performance to ensure that consultants and contractors complete their obligations and deliverables, and that corresponding payments are processed.
- Site Space Planning: Support site space planning committees and develop strategies to manage site or organization-wide space pressures, providing recommendations on options to improve the operation, efficiency, and effectiveness of impacted business units.
- Design and Construction: Manage planning, design, and contract preparation, including liaison with clinical planners, equipment planners, design consultants, and various user groups, to ensure that designs meet program and facility needs, adhere to technical standards and specifications, and are cost-effective.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor adherence to established safety, infection control, and risk mitigation protocols by contractors and PHSA staff during project implementation, reporting exceptions to appropriate personnel and taking corrective action as required.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Provide leadership to other FM staff, including coaching, mentoring, and direct supervision on a project-by-project basis, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Education and Experience: A Master's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or other relevant area, with a minimum of five to seven years of recent, related experience managing, leading, and directing facilities projects in a complex institutional environment.
- Knowledge and Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of capital project planning and implementation processes, including design, construction, and procurement, as well as project management principles and methodologies. Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications, and to effectively manage planning, design, and construction projects simultaneously.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with stakeholders, including physicians, staff, and external users, to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information to various stakeholders and to build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners.
