Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Risk Management Expert to join our team in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT risk management, process improvement, and automation.

About the Role

This is a 12-month contract position that offers a competitive salary of $120,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and revising IT and cyber security risk assessment processes to reduce overlaps and gaps
  • Documenting a consolidated view of the IT and cyber risk assessment program to enable consistency, completeness, and accurate information
  • Creating a risk assessment universe and developing a clear standard to align and aggregate results
  • Deploying the risk assessment universe and capabilities in an appropriately robust tool
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A breadth of IT and/or non-financial risk management experience over 10+ years
  • Strong working knowledge in IT risk management experience in 5+ areas including systems design, security, availability, disaster recovery, third-party risk management, change management, release management, audit, regulatory risk, logical access, software currency
  • Knowledge of banking businesses, including related systems, procedures, and regulations
  • Strong PPT presentation design and delivery skills, with data analytics and visual dashboarding desirable
  • Knowledge or understanding of risk/control frameworks (ITIL, ISO, COBIT, NIST)
Nice-to-Have Skills

Big 4 consulting experience, additional relevant certifications, and experience with technology and cyber security risk assessments would be an asset.

Soft Skills

You will possess a diverse set of skills and knowledge across various fields, enabling adaptability and a broad perspective in problem-solving. You will be able to reason systematically, evaluate information objectively, and make sound decisions. Effective communication and engagement skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage tasks autonomously and plan, prioritize, and manage time and resources efficiently.

Education

A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business commerce, or equivalent experience is required.
