Job Title: Communications Advisor

Job Summary:

The Government of Alberta is seeking a skilled Communications Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans, creating engaging communications materials, and leveraging social media and digital platforms effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement strategic communications plans and key messages.
  • Apply creativity and innovation to tackle projects and solve complex problems.
  • Research, write, and edit a variety of communications tools.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute communications events and media availabilities.
  • Support cross-government communications initiatives.
  • Assist senior branch members as needed.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in communications, public relations, journalism, English, or a related field, plus a minimum of four years of directly related communications or correspondence experience.
  • Experience with issues management and media event planning.
