Talize Retail Floor Team Member Job Description

At Talize, we are committed to delivering an exceptional shopping experience to our customers. As a Retail Floor Team Member, you will play a vital role in achieving this goal by providing top-notch customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

  1. Greet customers in a professional and enthusiastic manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere for our shoppers.
  2. Assist customers in finding the products they need, offering recommendations and informing them of store promotions and events.
  3. Respond to customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  4. Meet or exceed sales goals by providing excellent customer service and maintaining a high level of product knowledge.
  5. Process transactions accurately and efficiently, handling exchanges, refunds, cancellations, and tax exemptions with ease.
  6. Securely handle store funds and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  7. Ensure that the retail floor is stocked and visually appealing at all times, promoting a positive shopping experience for our customers.
  8. Check fitting rooms and place unwanted merchandise on racks according to company standards.
  9. Perform all opening and closing duties, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Health and Safety

  1. Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to company housekeeping standards and guidelines.
  2. Take precautionary measures to prevent external and internal theft, protecting our customers, employees, and assets.
  3. Identify and report hazards to management and the Joint Health and Safety Committee, ensuring a safe workplace for everyone.
  4. Report employee or customer accidents to management immediately, prioritizing the well-being of our staff and customers.

Other Duties

  1. Answer the On-Site Donations door, receiving donations from customers and assisting with moving/unloading product when necessary.
  2. Handle incoming phone calls efficiently, providing required information or transferring calls as needed.
  3. Roll racks from the fitting room and processing department to the retail floor, maintaining a high level of productivity and organization.
  4. Communicate effectively with peers, managers, customers, and through the store intercom system, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  5. Assist management with the preparation and execution of sale days, ensuring a successful and well-organized event.
  6. Perform additional job-related duties as requested by management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.

Experience and Requirements

  1. 1+ years of experience working in retail, with a strong focus on customer service and sales.
  2. Previous work in a thrift retail environment is considered an asset, demonstrating a high level of adaptability and flexibility.

  1. Sales Orientation: Engage with customers while utilizing in-depth knowledge of stock on hand to help assist with shopping needs.
  2. Basic Math and Money Handling: Properly facilitate all register transactions.
  3. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot customer issues or complaints with little to no assistance from management.
  4. Communication Skills: Interactions with customers are enthusiastic, polite, professional, and informative.
  5. Collaboration: Must work well independently and as part of a team.
