About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Crisis Response Nurse to join our team at WNHAC. As a Crisis Response Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing primary health care to individuals in need, working in partnership with the Treaty 3 Police Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site emergency assessments and determine the most appropriate course of action, including transport to hospital or treatment in the field.
  • Work collaboratively with an interprofessional team to increase the capacity for service provision to the population seen in outreach.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of programs and services that promote health and well-being in Indigenous communities.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Experience working in an Indigenous organization and ability to understand and speak Anishinaabemowin (an asset).
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to cultural issues and respect for the beliefs and values of Indigenous people and communities.
  • Valid drivers' license and own vehicle required; copy of current drivers' abstract required.
  • Current criminal records check required.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and professional development relevant to the job.
