Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Stationary Engineer to join our team at Florida Crystals / ASR Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our industrial powerhouse equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain oil/gas fired boilers, auxiliary equipment, and other related systems.
  • Perform routine Steam Power Plant duties, including start-ups, shutdowns, and maintenance.
  • Assist the Powerhouse Shift Operating Engineer with power plant operations and provide shift relief as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation, guidelines, and standards.
  • Provide isolation, lockouts, clearances, and safe work permits on nominated equipment.
  • Maintain and monitor fire protection systems and associated equipment.
  • Participate in maintenance planning and repair of equipment, and conduct preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate and schedule outside contractors' work in line with safety, quality, and plant production rules.
Requirements
  • A valid Ontario Second Class Operating Engineer Certificate is required. 3rd Class Operating Engineer Candidates currently pursuing Second Class Engineer with at least 50% of exams completed to be considered.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good mechanical aptitude and proficient computer skills.
  • The ability to quickly respond to dynamic, evolving circumstances, and demonstrate a general knowledge of typical mechanical and electrical working practices.
Working Conditions

The job is within a heavy industrial environment, and you may be required to work within various areas of the facility. Depending on the area you work in, the environmental conditions may be hot, cold, dirty, dusty, wet, or noisy.

Safety procedures and guidelines must be adhered to at all times, including wearing personal protective equipment such as a hard hat, eye protection, hearing protection, and safety shoes.

Punctuality and attendance are extremely important to the success of the operations in general as well as contributing to an overall positive team environment.
