The role of the Controller is to oversee the company's financial plans and policies, accounting practices and the preparation of financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the month end, quarter end and year end management accounting process, delivering reports in an accurate and timely manner that are insightful to drive effective decisions.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
  • Review monthly contract accounting to ensure a high level of project accuracy and compliance with revenue recognition policies.
  • Lead the preparation of internal and external audit fieldwork and schedules, ensuring that all requirements are met.
  • Improve financial reporting processes, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing changes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Review and improve internal controls and SOX compliance, partnering with internal audit and corporate accounting to ensure compliance with L3Harris policies.
  • Review the R&D Tax claim process to ensure timely submission, working closely with external accountants and senior leadership.
  • Provide essential support to the team's daily operations, facilitating a seamless workflow and efficient practices.
  • Lead and manage ad-hoc projects, demonstrating flexibility and a capacity to drive change.
  • Champion the enhancement of finance processes and tools, including the introduction of automation to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Foster the development and maintenance of robust financial controls to secure the company's assets and ensure financial integrity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance/accounting.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Hold the CPA accounting designation.
  • Ability to lead and mentor accounting team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong knowledge of Balance Sheet and Income Statement.
  • Manage and perform multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with proficiency in English and French.
  • Prior experience using Oracle SmartView, an asset.
  • Prior Aerospace and Defence industry experience.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance.
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
