Company Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Lawyer to join our Corporate Services team within the Legal Affairs department. Our client, Intact Financial Corporation (Intact), is a leading provider of property and casualty insurance in Canada and a prominent player in specialty insurance worldwide.

Location & Salary

This role is based in Toronto and offers a competitive salary of CAD $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.

About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the corporate structure of the company, participating in corporate reorganizations and regulatory filings, drafting legal documents, and supervising paralegals. You will also contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to the board of directors and advise management on strategies to enhance operational efficiency while minimizing legal risks.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years of experience practicing business law in a major law firm or within a publicly traded company
  • Bilingualism and membership in a Canadian provincial bar
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and professionalism
