Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Collection Specialist to join our team at Native Women's Association of Canada (NWAC). The successful candidate will assist with project activities, conducting research, analyzing data, and developing project materials.

About the Position

This is a dynamic opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to work on a project addressing HIV and HCV among Indigenous women in federal correctional facilities in Canada. The Research Officer - Walking the RED Path will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing research literature and reports;
  • Preparing presentations, materials, and reports using qualitative and quantitative research methods;
  • Applying culturally relevant gender-based analysis to all project materials and tools;
  • Developing project instruments, communications plan, monitoring and evaluation plan, and knowledge translation and dissemination;
  • Collecting and analyzing data;
  • Assisting in the completion of project activities;
  • Traveling to project locations when required.
Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • An undergraduate degree in health sciences, social sciences, or related studies;
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills in plain language and academic styles;
  • The ability to conduct culturally-relevant gender-based analysis and work in consultation with community members and project partners;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with data analysis software;
  • A minimum of two years' experience working/volunteering in Indigenous women's health, social programs, or correctional services.
Knowledge Requirements

Familiarity with implementation research and knowledge of contemporary issues facing Indigenous peoples in Canada is essential. Bilingualism is an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. NWAC also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as retirement savings plan matching.
