Job Overview

At Gisborne Holdings Ltd, we are seeking a skilled Sprinkler System Installer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining piping systems and sprinkler systems in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule materials, tools, and personnel to ensure efficient installation and maintenance of piping systems and sprinkler systems.
  • Liaise with management, engineers, and other trades to coordinate work and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for clients, and instruct apprentices on best practices and safety protocols.
  • Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors, and control equipment, using hand and power tools.
  • Install clamps, brackets, and hangers to support piping systems and sprinkler and fire protection equipment.
  • Install valves, alarms, and associated equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation of piping systems and sprinkler systems.
  • Join pipes and piping sections using soldering and welding equipment, and service and repair sprinkler systems as needed.
  • Supervise other workers and ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies.
  • Test systems for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment, and clean and maintain pipe units and fittings.
  • Cut openings for pipes in walls, floors, and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines.
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems to ensure safe and efficient operation of piping systems and sprinkler systems.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size, and remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems.
  • Select type and size of pipe required, and test systems for leaks using testing equipment.
  • Weld, braze, cement, solder, and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping systems.
  • Estimate costs and materials, and operate CADD and other computer software systems to design and plan piping systems and sprinkler systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies.

Requirements
  • Sprinkler System Installer Trade Certification.
  • Sprinkler System Installer Red Seal Certificate.
  • 5 years or more of experience in the field.
  • Willingness to travel and work in a fast-paced environment.
