Job Summary:
The Clinical Manager will lead our clinical supervisors and front-line staff in delivering high-quality patient care. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor clinical supervisors to ensure effective care delivery and staff support.
- Monitor and improve care and service delivery performance, including clinical indicators.
- Participate in interviewing, orientation, supervision, and performance management of clinical supervisors.
- Ensure completion of mandatory training and skill development.
- Create and maintain the on-call schedule for clinical supervisors.
- Respond to clinical concerns from staff, contractors, funders, clients, and families.
- Review client safety incidents and participate in investigation and resolution.
- Provide clinical leadership at the district level.
- Oversee CQI activities related to care and service, including staff participation and problem-solving teams.
- Ensure compliance with ParaMed policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Participate in necessary care conferences with healthcare teams, contractors, and funders.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of government agencies, healthcare workers, and community resources.
- Demonstrate continuous learning and professional development through involvement in conferences, committees, and networks.
Requirements:
- Registration/licensing in good standing as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse with provincial regulatory college.
- BScN preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years in a formal nursing leadership role required.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a practicing Registered Nurse in a community setting.
- Certification in Community Health Nursing with CNA certification preferred.
- Membership with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) preferred.
- Working knowledge of applicable healthcare legislation.
- Knowledge of standards of care for palliative, wound, IV therapy, and other specialties.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Effective skills in critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Flexibility in hours worked to accommodate operational needs.
- Knowledge of applicable community resources available for clients and families.
- Current certification of First Aid, CPR, completed within Canada.
- Excellent computer skills, including experience in Word and Excel.
- Able to provide a current, clear criminal background check with Vulnerable Position Screening (VPS).
