Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Solutions Architect to join our team at Banque Nationale du Canada. As a key member of our Business IT Delivery team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing large-scale data solutions that drive business value and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and design data architecture and technical solutions aligned with business and architecture objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, platforms, and tools for each project, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with industry standards.
  • Identify integration patterns, such as APIs, streaming, and microservices, to enable scalability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles to solve complex problems and deliver composable and iterative architecture.
  • Participate in data management, including data cataloging, quality, traceability, and documentation.
  • Produce cloud-native or hybrid solutions using AWS cloud services, such as Serverless and containers.
  • Develop and implement robust security measures to protect data, applications, and systems, ensuring compliance with data security, privacy, and regulations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers and partners, presenting and explaining technical solutions, and leading and mentoring a team of developers throughout the project lifecycle.
About the Team

Our IT team consists of over 2,300 experts who work in an agile, proactive, and collaborative manner to seize opportunities, stay on the cutting edge of technology, and continuously improve processes. As a Senior Data Solutions Architect, you will be part of the Enterprise IT Delivery sector, reporting to the senior director of this team.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Information Technology, or Master's degree in Information Technology, with relevant experience.
  • Proven experience as a solutions/data architect, with a focus on large-scale, complex solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of DDD, ODS, OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, Power Designer modeling, and Collibra business catalog.
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud services, such as EKS and Serverless, and structured and unstructured databases, such as RDS, Dynamo DB, and S3.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills.
  • Strong ability to synthesize, analyze, and popularize.
  • Experience with agile methodologies.
  • AWS Solution Architect Associate and/or Professional certification is an asset.
