Food Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Safety Coordinator to join our team at Gecko Hospitality. This role is crucial in ensuring that our restaurants maintain the highest standards of food safety and compliance, impacting the lives of millions of customers every day.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough inspections across multiple restaurant locations to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with franchisees and operational teams to address non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Deliver comprehensive training sessions to franchisees, staff, and operational teams on food safety best practices.
- Manage and follow up on food safety issues using our internal platforms to ensure timely resolution.
- Organize and lead meetings with cross-functional teams to streamline daily operations and improve food safety.
- Support the Food Safety program across Ontario and the Atlantic provinces, developing and maintaining partnerships with the Ministries of Public Health.
- A degree or certification in food science.
- Experience working directly with a restaurant banner or franchise restaurant group.
- At least one year of experience in restaurant inspection or auditing and restaurant franchise industry experience.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Flexibility to work varied hours and travel within the Greater Toronto Area and the Maritimes.
- Proficiency in both English and French is preferred.
- Autonomous, self-motivated, and resourceful.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong decision-making abilities.
- Adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in delivering effective training and maintaining high standards of hygiene and sanitation.
