We are seeking a highly skilled Data and Contracts Specialist to join our team at Colas USA. As a key member of our construction and highway maintenance divisions, you will play a critical role in navigating contracts and deciphering project plans to build projects and estimates per specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Perform accurate material and quantity take-offs, and help prepare detailed estimates from first principles.
- Analyze cost history for reference when required, and solicit quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Engage in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors, and attend pre-bid, post-bid, and post-award meetings.
- Assist with smooth project transition from pursuit to execution when successful, and perform market analytics and market soundings for the group.
- Make presentations of your findings, and maintain close contact with project managers to assist in the preparation of change orders.
- Maintain excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the public, and ensure contract compliance and government regulations are met.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in mathematics or engineering.
- 1-2 years of relevant construction and/or highway maintenance industry experience.
- Experience with estimating and software, such as HeavyBid, is an asset.
- Knowledge of MTO or other contracts, and familiarity with roadway construction and maintenance.
- Familiarity with accounting and billing processes.
