About the Role

As a Yard Supervisor in our QNS&L operations, you'll play a crucial role in leading a team of professionals working in the QNS&L yard. Your primary responsibility will be to motivate, inspire, and keep your team safe and well.

As a Yard Supervisor, you'll be responsible for:

* Maintaining and fostering good relationships between team members
* Coordinating activities to minimize operational delays and disruptions
* Conducting yard and main-track audits to ensure locomotive engineers are operating trains safely and efficiently
* Working closely with other departments to meet objectives
* Ensuring employees follow the training program and evaluate their performance
* Managing emergency repairs and monitoring locomotives and auxiliary equipment
* Following Transport Canada and QNS&L Railway standards and regulations, as well as IOC Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures, regulations, and standards

What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

* A commitment to your own safety and that of your team
* A high school diploma or successful completion of an equivalency exam (TENS)
* Good knowledge of IOC/QNS&L operating standards and procedures and Transport Canada regulations
* Experience as a train driver or operations manager
* Fluency in English, both written and spoken
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
* A valid class-5 driving license
