Job Summary

Dynacare is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Microbiology team in Kelowna, BC. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical and scientific results to our clients. Your contributions will make a significant impact on the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
  • Ensure quality control standards are maintained, investigate missing samples, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  • Record, interpret, and/or approve test results.
  • Maintain accuracy of appropriate documents.
  • Troubleshoot clinical assays and equipment.
  • Identify and report incidents and non-conformities.

Requirements

  • CSMLS Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level.
  • Solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Nice to have: experience in Molecular/PCR Testing.

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • High visual requirements.
  • Repetitive fine motor movements of hands.
  • Perform duties in stationary standing/sitting positions.
  • Exposure to noise, chemicals, solvents, and bio-hazardous and radioactive materials.
