As a Student Data Analyst at OMERS, you will play a key role in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to help our organization make informed decisions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Data Collection: Gather data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and external sources.
  2. Data Cleaning: Review and clean data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  3. Data Analysis: Use statistical techniques to analyze data and identify trends or patterns.
  4. Reporting: Create reports and visualizations (e.g., charts, graphs, dashboards) to present findings to stakeholders.
  5. Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide insights.
  6. Database Management: Assist in maintaining and updating databases and data systems.
  7. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve data collection and analysis processes.

Requirements:

  1. Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree specializing in Accounting/Finance, Computer Science, or Data Analytics.
  2. Strong interest in pursuing a career in Capital Markets or FinTech.
  3. An understanding of investment products, including bonds, equities, derivatives, and alternative investments.
  4. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  5. Analytical, organized, and great attention to detail.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work well with others.
  7. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  8. Experience with data engineering tools (e.g., SQL, PowerBI) is an asset.
