About the Role

As a Public Sector Accounting Specialist at Grant Thornton, you will play a key role in helping our clients in the public and parapublic sectors achieve their goals. Your expertise in accounting and auditing will be essential in providing high-quality services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement accounting strategies for our clients in the public and parapublic sectors, including CPEs and cooperatives of habitation.
  • Conduct financial statement audits and provide assurance services to our clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to plan and execute audit engagements, including supervision, task allocation, and participation in audit activities.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality deliverables to clients, including financial statements, audit reports, and other relevant documents.
  • Participate in business development activities to identify new business opportunities and grow our client base.
Requirements
  • CPA designation or in the process of obtaining it.
  • 2 years of relevant work experience in a public accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and auditing procedures.
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software such as Caseware.
