Job Summary

Baycrest is seeking a Senior Physiotherapy Clinician to join our Physiotherapy Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the clinical assessment, care planning, and treatment of patients with complex geriatric, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with inter-professional team members, volunteers, and the physiotherapy clinical team to provide high-quality patient care. You will also have the opportunity to participate in teaching and mentoring physiotherapy and physiotherapy assistant students.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients with complex needs.
  • Provide evidence-based treatment interventions and discharge planning to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Actively participate in the teaching and mentoring of students, promoting a culture of excellence and education within the department.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to develop and implement systematic, evidence-based approaches to client-centred care, program development, and evaluation.
  • Assign patient plans of care and provide direction, supervision, and monitoring of physiotherapy assistants.

Qualifications

  • Licensure in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (an asset).
  • Experience working with geriatric populations, particularly those with multiple medical conditions and/or cognitive impairment (preferred).
  • Experience in providing clinical instruction and teaching to physiotherapy students (an asset).
  • Previous experience and/or interest in developing evidence-based programs (an asset).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Meditech, MDS, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
