At the City of Saskatoon, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our Corporate Financial Services division, you will play a critical role in providing expert financial support and guidance to our Strategic Partner Divisions and Departments.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a financial team responsible for providing business support and partnerships with various City of Saskatoon divisions, including Corporate Financial Services, Strategy and Transformation, Human Resources, City Clerks, City Solicitors, and City Managers.
- Coordinate the budgeting process and participate in business and strategic planning for each division.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with assigned portfolios to support the achievement of corporate initiatives.
- Oversee day-to-day finance functions, including time and attendance processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor and customer master data maintenance.
- Coordinate the financial aspects of Annual Performance Reports for all business areas within the divisions.
- Provide professional advice on financial planning and accountability, report writing, and business planning.
- Oversee and analyze depreciation and asset evaluation processes within the divisions, including Tangible Capital Asset reporting requirements.
- Ensure divisional financial strategies and policies align with corporate strategies and policies.
- Oversee and manage senior-level funding initiatives related to the divisions, monitoring departmental requirements and ensuring stakeholders are informed of schedules, cash flow, and funding status.
- Accountability - Take personal ownership and responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work commitments and departmental commitments to achieve results.
- Seven to nine years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, business administration, rate and fee modeling, and design, including five years of supervising and coordinating staff.
- Thorough knowledge of management and organizational planning principles.
- Knowledge of financial management information and internal control systems.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to be accountable for personal performance and staff performance.
- Ability to express ideas and concepts through effective communication, both orally and in writing.
