The Environmental Health and Safety Consultant plays a critical role in ensuring the well-being of employees, customers, and the environment. This position requires a subject matter expert with a deep understanding of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) activities within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct health and safety inspections within office, construction, or industrial environments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Develop and implement effective EHS programs, procedures, and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead and manage multiple client assignments and associated projects, including those involving internal and external resources.
- Support return-to-work activities, liaise with government agencies, and investigate workplace incidents.
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees on EHS best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and maintain EHS management systems, including ISO 14001, to ensure ongoing compliance and improvement.
- Participate in emergency response activities for environmental or health and safety incidents.
- Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Five or more years of progressive experience in Environment, Health & Safety, or industrial hygienist related work.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation preferred.
- Post-graduate certificate or diploma in Environment, Health and Safety is an asset.
- Valid G driver's license.
Toronto Hydro offers a Hybrid Work Arrangement, allowing for remote work up to three days per week. Employees are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
