Under the direction of the Shop Supervisor, this role independently performs a variety of minor tasks and assists tradespersons or other maintenance personnel in their job function.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist tradespersons or other maintenance personnel in their job function.
- Perform a variety of minor tasks as directed by the Shop Supervisor.
- Work independently to complete tasks and projects.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to achieve team goals.
Requirements
- Two years' experience in assisting with trades-related maintenance work in institutional buildings required.
- Complete Grade 12 education, Manitoba standards, required.
- Current Manitoba driver's license required.
- Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
- Good manual dexterity required.
- Must be able to withstand periods of strenuous activity.
- Job requires heavy lifting, bending, and working from scaffolds, high-level platforms, and in confined spaces and enclosures.
