At Homewood Health, we're seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you'll play a vital role in delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct data analysis and reporting to support informed decision-making across the organization.
- Participate in the period-end close process, including journaling transactions into the system.
- Analyze and prepare financial statements and monthly departmental variance reports, including detailed salary analysis.
- Perform month-end journals and account reconciliations.
- Provide exceptional customer service and accounting expertise to cross-functional areas.
- Assist with the year-end external audit process, preparation of relevant working papers, and responding to audit queries and information requests.
- Drive continuous process improvement and workflow efficiencies across the finance department.
- Participate in system improvements and/or new system implementation.
- Support the annual budget process and all ancillary reporting.
- Accurately and timely submit Ministry reports, including quarterly MIS submissions and quarterly Ontario Health reports, as well as ad hoc requests.
- Support senior management with special projects and other financial analysis as required.
- Two plus years of relevant accounting, data analysis, and financial reporting experience, with healthcare knowledge being an asset.
- Ability to demonstrate superior Excel knowledge for advanced data manipulation and analysis.
- University degree or College diploma in a related field.
- Completion of, or close to completing, an accounting designation (CPA, CMA, ACCA, etc.).
- Experience with either AS400, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Sage is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to discuss observations of financial information with all levels.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement the recommended course of action.
- Proven ability to work independently and as a team member.
