About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to support the mission of Nova Scotia Health Authority by assisting in the development and implementation of system performance tools and reports for Public Health.

The successful candidate will have primary responsibility to support the ongoing management and production of reports, including but not limited to: Indicator reports, Dashboards/Scorecards, and Performance Monitoring reports. The Analyst will liaise with key stakeholders to clarify data requests, and complete data extraction, data and document management, data synthesis, analytics, and reports with data from Public Health information systems, administrative databases, as well as other internal and external sources of data and information.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in data analysis and a passion for working in the healthcare sector. The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree in a health-related field, such as informatics, mathematics/statistics, and 5 years of experience, or a master's degree and 3 years of experience. The candidate will also have experience with data extraction, data management, descriptive statistics, and data analysis, as well as proficiency with micro-computer applications, such as Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word.

The candidate will also have a comprehensive knowledge of information management principles, including information dissemination and exchange, data collection methodologies, and data quality. Experience with SAS and/or SQL is also an asset. The candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Hours

This is a permanent, full-time position, 75 hours bi-weekly.
