Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Household Cleaner to join our team at SYED ARSHAD. As a Household Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our private residence. This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 30 to 40 hours of work per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture, make beds and change sheets, stock linen closet, clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances, pick up debris and empty trash containers, launder clothing and household linens, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, wash windows, walls and ceilings.
  • Security and Safety: Pass a criminal record check.
  • Transportation and Travel: Public transportation is available.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, combination of sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Punctuality, dependability, flexibility, initiative, organized, patience, honesty.
  • Experience: Experience an asset.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees, assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster, supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition, offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees, provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Support for Youths: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment, offers on-the-job training tailored to youth, offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth, provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people, offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations, provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers, facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
Requirements

Language: English.

Work Environment: Private residence.

Work Schedule: Part-time, approximately 30 to 40 hours per week.

Physical Demands: Repetitive tasks, combination of sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 9 kg (20 lbs).

Security Clearance: Criminal record check required.

Availability: Public transportation available.

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required.

Experience: Experience an asset.
