Financial Reporting Analyst Job Description

As a Financial Reporting Analyst at The North West Company, you will play a crucial role in supporting corporate accounting and financial reporting processes. This position is part of the Corporate Team and requires a strong analytical mindset to work with financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the preparation of monthly consolidated financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Review and analyze financial data to identify variances and trends, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and tools to support financial analysis and decision-making.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to the CEO and CFO, including preparation of quarterly reports and analysis.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary business education, with a focus on accounting and finance.
  • Experience with financial software, including Microsoft Excel and PeopleSoft.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
