  • Pulling and staging materials for loading purposes.
  • Loading trucks under the direction of the yard foreman and driver.
  • Providing prompt, friendly service to will-call customers and assisting with material loading.
  • Safely operating machinery, such as saws, when required for customer service tasks.
  • Unloading shipments and storing incoming materials correctly.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and fire regulations at all times.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized yard environment.
  • Applying proper material handling techniques to minimize damage to goods.
  • Familiarizing yourself with lumber grades, dimensions, species, and other merchandise stored in the yard.
  • Withstanding diverse seasonal climate conditions.
  • Reporting complaints or issues with customers to supervisors in a timely manner.
  • Accurately reporting accidents and violations, filing necessary forms.
  • Collaborating with the yard foreman on material returns and storage.
  • Identifying potential sales opportunities and completing project solutions.
