Job Title: Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Driver to join our Warehouse Distribution team at the Toronto Catholic District School Board.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pickup and delivery of mail, furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment to and from schools, offices, suppliers, etc.
  • Provide furniture moving services within board sites
  • Load and unload assigned vehicle in accordance with delivery route
  • Maintain a clear driving record, adhere to all requirements of the Highway Traffic Act
  • Adhere to TCDSB Board Vehicle Policy and Operating Procedures
  • Maintain vehicles in clean and safe condition and report all mechanical defects to supervisor
  • Maintain working areas within warehouse in a clean and safe condition

Qualifications:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent; candidates must submit proof of OSSD
  • Minimum Two (2) years recent commercial driving experience and valid Ontario Driver's DZ license (vehicle with air brake system); candidates must submit their driver's license and have access to a reliable automobile
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Good physical and manual dexterity and ability to lift heavy equipment such as floor polishers, computers, multi-piece shipments, etc.
  • A thorough knowledge of the streets of Metropolitan Toronto
  • Ability to work independently and available to work overtime as required

This is a CUPE Local 4400 union position with a pay rate of $28.40/hr.
