The Opportunity:

We're seeking a highly skilled Research Coordinator to join our Knowledge to Action team. This team ensures that March of Dimes Canada is an organization focused on integrating evidence in its services and programs offered to people with disabilities and their families.

Job Description

The position involves coordinating knowledge mobilization activities and research for a multi-year project examining digital skill development for youth living with disabilities. The aim is to create more inclusive employment opportunities as youth and young adults transition from school into the workplace.

  • Plan and facilitate advisory committee and project team meetings.
  • Support data collection and analysis activities.
  • Create knowledge products sharing study findings and activities in clear, accessible language and formats.
  • Work with management to identify opportunities to mobilize project findings within the organization.
  • Tailor knowledge products to engage diverse audiences.
  • Coordinate virtual national symposium events discussing project findings and generating action plans.
  • Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and administration, including writing regular project reports.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • An undergraduate degree in social sciences, disability studies, public policy, or research with 2+ years of relevant work experience required; a Master's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience in knowledge mobilization/translation, report writing, communications, and/or stakeholder engagement.
  • Certification in knowledge mobilization is an asset.
  • Event planning and/or experience coordinating large virtual events is an asset.
  • 1-2 years' experience conducting social, community, and/or disabilities research in a work or academic environment.
  • Project management or research administration experience.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable engaging a variety of stakeholders, including people with lived experience.
  • Experience working with youth or people living with disabilities is an asset.
  • Familiarity with disability issues is an asset.
  • Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, works well in a demanding dynamic environment.
  • A high degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.

Benefits

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement and a competitive salary range of $51,744 – $62,093 for the duration of the contract.
