About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Industrial Technology Consultant to join our team at the National Research Council Canada (NRC). As an Industrial Technology Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of our Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) by providing expert advice and guidance to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to SMEs on industrial research and development projects
  • Assess the technical and commercial feasibility of projects and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including SMEs, industry associations, and government agencies
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements and trends in industry and provide expert advice to SMEs on how to leverage these advancements to improve their competitiveness
  • Collaborate with other NRC teams to identify opportunities for innovation and growth in industry
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, science, or technology
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industry, with a strong background in research and development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with SMEs, industry associations, and government agencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical and commercial issues
