Associated Engineering is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Design Engineer to join our team in Ontario, Canada.

Job Summary

We are looking for a talented professional with a strong background in transportation engineering to work on various projects, including traffic engineering software, drafting and design software, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data management systems. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and organizational abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop transportation infrastructure projects using traffic engineering software such as Highway Capacity Software, Synchro, SimTraffic, Vissim, EMME, and Visum.
  • Utilize drafting and design software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, and AutoTURN to create detailed designs and plans.
  • Work with GIS data management systems such as Microsoft Access or SQL to analyze and manage spatial data.
  • Analyze and solve complex problems related to transportation infrastructure, working independently and as part of a team.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and environmental responsibility in all work activities.
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure project goals and objectives are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation engineering, preferably with experience working on Ministry of Transportation Ontario projects.
  • Registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Familiarity with cost estimating, contract document preparation, contract administration, and construction inspection procedures is considered an asset.
