Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Crop Support Specialist to join our Crop Support Team at one of our many nursery locations across Canada and the USA. As a Crop Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in helping growers plan and execute high-quality crops. Your responsibilities will include developing training materials, guiding growers through Standard Operating Procedures, and assisting with innovative crop production trials. You will also be responsible for ensuring that learnings are shared between nursery locations, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive training programs and guides for growers and production managers
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship to growers and production managers
  • Contribute to the development of PRT's overall approach to crop support
  • Monitor cultural and risk management practices to ensure reliable and safe production techniques
  • Collaborate with the Director of Crop Production to drive innovation and continuous improvement
Qualifications and Skills:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in crop production, with at least 3 years in a leadership or decision-making position. You should have strong planning, organization, administration, and time management skills, as well as excellent interpersonal, coaching, and mentoring abilities. Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) are also required.
